There has been some email circulating within the District and a number of people have reached out regarding a news story on KCRA 3 this morning. The story, as reported to me, was regarding threats and incidents in local schools related to the Texas school shooting. In that story, the newscaster referenced Dixon Unified and Dixon PD as investigating threats to our schools on social media. The report that we have received threats related to school shootings is 100% inaccurate. We have not received any information regarding social media posts suggesting or threatening shootings at any of our schools.
It is true that we are working with DPD and staff at Dixon High School regarding incidents posted on social media, but these are in no way related to threats involving school shootings or similar acts. While the allegations we are investigating are serious and deserve our full attention, they are not the type that would necessitate a Districtwide announcement at this time, as they do not represent an active threat to our schools.
The Dixon Police Department has increased its presence at our schools since the Texas shooting and will be continuing with that through the end of the year. This is a proactive effort on their part to try to allay fears, as well as act as a deterrent should anyone be around our campuses posing any kind of threat. I confirmed that the Police Department has not received any information on potential threats with Chief Thompson this morning.
Please be assured that we would be fully addressing any credible threat of a school shooting with you and taking every step with the Police Department to address the issue.

Ha habido algunos correos electrónicos circulando dentro del Distrito y varias personas se han comunicado con respecto a una noticia en el canal KCRA 3 esta mañana. La historia, según me informaron, se refería a amenazas e incidentes en escuelas locales relacionados con el tiroteo en la escuela de Texas.
