Intra-District Transfer

An intra-district transfer refers to a currently enrolled DUSD student who would like to transfer to another DUSD school other than the one assigned to their home address.The window for intra-district transfer requests for the 2026-27 school year closes on April 30, 2026.

When reviewing transfer requests, the district considers many factors including:

• Space Availability. The requested school must have space at the student’s grade level or program.
• Program Capacity. Some programs have limited seats or staffing considerations.
• Student Needs. Special education services, 504 supports, or unique student needs may be reviewed to ensure appropriate services can be provided at the requested school.
• Enrollment Balance. The district  must maintain adequate enrollment and staffing at all schools.

Families will be notified of the status of their intra-district transfer via email by May 30, 2026.
