Dixon Unified School District, in collaboration with Travis Unified School District, is proud to partner with Alder Graduate School of Education to offer a Teacher Residency Program — an affordable, hands-on pathway to a teaching career.
Our program blends hands-on classroom experience with rigorous coursework in educational theory and research. You’ll attend seminars and online sessions that complement your daily practice, giving you the tools to create inclusive, engaging, and equitable learning environments.
This year-long residency combines:
- Four days/week of classroom experience with a trained mentor teacher
- One day/week of seminars blending research-based coursework with real-world practice
- Completion of a Master of Arts in Education and Teaching Credential

Multiple Subject - Elementary, Bilingual (Dual-Immersion - Spanish)
Single Subject - STEM
Special Education - Mild/Moderate, Bilingual (Spanish)
