Hello JKMS Mavericks this is Principal O’Connor with your weekly updates.
During the last month we successfully completed CAASSP and ELPAC testing for both ELPAC and CAASPP. Our students were prepared and we know they put forth great effort. This week students will take the last i-ready test for ELA and Mathematics and will continue to hold retakes for students who were absent during testing.
We have two more weeks of school to go and it is our goal to ensure that teaching and learning continue through the last day of school.
This week at JKMS
Band Concert
Monday May 23, 2022 JKMS Band will host the final concert of the year. This is a free concert that will be held in the big gym at JKMS. Band members are expected to help set up immediately after school on concert day and arrive wearing concert black at 6:30pm that evening. The show starts at 7pm, we hope to see you there!
Open House
Please join us for our annual Open House on Tuesday, May 24th from 5:45 – 7:00. JKMS Band will provide a live performance and our AVID and Math department will have displays available as well. Classrooms will be open for visitations from 6:00 – 7:00
Coming Up at JKMS
8th Grade Awards Ceremony
The 8th-grade awards ceremony is a special event to honor our students who received a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher for the 2020-2021 school year or who have exhibited significant growth throughout this academic school year. On Tuesday, May 31st we will host our 8th-grade end of the Year awards ceremony in person at John Knight middle school. The doors will open at 6:00 pm the event will begin at 6:30pm. If your child has a 2.0 or higher GPA and you did not receive the link to rsvp please call the school to determine your childs eligibility.

Hola JKMS Mavericks, soy el director O’Connor con sus actualizaciones semanales.
Durante el último mes completamos con éxito las pruebas CAASSP y ELPAC tanto para ELPAC como para CAASPP. Nuestros estudiantes estaban preparados y sabemos que hicieron un gran esfuerzo. Esta semana, los estudiantes tomarán el último examen i-ready para ELA y Matemáticas y continuarán realizando repeticiones para los estudiantes que estuvieron ausentes durante el examen.
Nos quedan dos semanas más de clases y nuestro objetivo es garantizar que la enseñanza y el aprendizaje continúen hasta el último día de clases.

Band Concert
lunes 23 de mayo de 2022 JKMS Band presentará el concierto final del año. Este es un concierto gratuito que se llevará a cabo en el gran gimnasio de JKMS. Se espera que los miembros de la banda ayuden a instalarse inmediatamente después de la escuela el día del concierto y lleguen vestidos de negro a las 6:30 p. m. esa noche. El show comienza a las 7pm, ¡esperamos verte allí!
Casa Abierta
Únase a nosotros para nuestra Casa Abierta anual el martes 24 de mayo de 5:45 a 7:00. JKMS Band ofrecerá una presentación en vivo y nuestro departamento de AVID y Matemáticas también tendrá pantallas disponibles.clases estarán abiertos para visitas de 6:00 a 7:00

entrega de premios de 8.º grado
8.º grado es un evento especial para honrar a nuestros estudiantes que recibieron un GPA acumulativo de 2.5 o más para el 2020-2021 año escolar o que han exhibido un crecimiento significativo a lo largo de este año escolar académico. El martes 31 de mayo tendremos nuestra ceremonia de entrega de premios de fin de año de octavo grado en persona en la escuela secundaria John Knight. Las puertas se abrirán a las 6:00 pm el evento comenzará a las 6:30 pm. Si su hijo tiene un GPA de 2.0 o superior y no recibió el enlace para confirmar su asistencia, llame a la escuela para determinar la elegibilidad de su hijo.
