It has been an absolute pleasure serving your students and families at Dixon High School! Your kids are amazing and I am so grateful for the opportunity to spend my days with them.
As we end the year, here are the things you need to know…
For Families of Returning Students…
- Students need to hold on to their Chromebooks and chargers for next year. Of course, if you leave DUSD, please turn in your equipment. Our office will be open through June 14, 2024.
- For next year’s seniors, Class of 2025, make sure you look for information about senior portraits! Sometime this summer, you will receive emails from Prestige to sign up for a session.
- Student schedules for 2024-2025 will be available at orientation in August. You will receive information about dates and times over the summer.
For Families of Current Seniors…
Please read through the following information about graduation this week!
Graduation Ceremony

- Graduation is scheduled for Saturday, June 8, at 9:00am in the stadium.
- This is an open ceremony so any and all guests are welcome. That said, it looks like it is going to be hot!! Since all guests will have quite the walk to their seats and the weather can be brutal, please consider celebrating with folks at home if the ceremony will be difficult for them. As a parent, I had to go this route with our elderly relatives when my students graduated and it certainly did not diminish the excitement of the day. In fact, they were grateful for the comforts of home.
- All guests will enter the stadium through the gate on the North East side of campus (near the farm) and parking nearest the gate is reserved for our disabled guests. Please make sure to communicate this with any guests that are unfamiliar with our campus. The other entrances to campus will be closed for the ceremony.
- Gates will open at 7:45am and no seats will be saved. However…there is plenty of room since we use both bleacher sets and you will be able to sit where you can celebrate your graduate up close and personal as they promenade prior to the ceremony. There will be staff to help direct you.
- Students with last names starting with A-La will be best seen on the VISITOR side of the stadium (South)
- Students with last names starting with Le-Z will be best seen on the HOME side of the stadium (North)
Caps and Gowns If your student does not have a cap and gown at this point, please reach out to Mr. Welborn at brian.welborn@dixonusd.org . For the ceremony, students are welcome to decorate the tops of their caps but they need to be flat and appropriate for school. If your senior has questions about their cap, they are welcome to ask me in person, text, or by email.
Official Transcripts
All graduates will need to arrange for an official transcript to be sent to their post-secondary institution. I am proud to say that many of our seniors have already done this! But, in case they haven’t, here is the link for transcript ordering: Transcript Order Form
Diplomas
All seniors will need to stop by the DHS Office the week of June 10 – June 14, between the hours of 9:00 and 3:00 to return Chromebooks (and chargers), verify payment of fees, and pick up diplomas. .

Al finalizar el año, estas son las cosas que usted necesita saber…
Para familias de estudiantes que regresan…
- Los estudiantes deben conservar sus Chromebooks y cargadores para el próximo año. Por supuesto, si sale del distrito DUSD, entregue su equipo. Nuestra oficina estará abierta hasta el 14 de junio de 2024.
- Para los estudiantes de último año del próximo año, graduación de 2025, ¡asegúrense de buscar información sobre retratos de estudiantes de último año! En algún momento de este verano, recibirá correos electrónicos de Prestige para registrarse en una sesión.
- Los horarios de los estudiantes para 2024-2025 estarán disponibles en la orientación en agosto. Recibirás información sobre fechas y horarios durante el verano.

Ceremonia de graduación

- La graduación está prevista para Sábado 8 de junio a las 09:00 am en el estadio.
- Esto es un ceremonia abierta así que todos y cada uno de los invitados son bienvenidos. Dicho esto, parece va a hacer calor!! Dado que todos los invitados tendrán que caminar bastante hasta sus asientos y el clima puede ser brutal, considere celebrar con la gente en casa si la ceremonia será difícil para ellos. Como padre, tuve que seguir este camino con nuestros parientes mayores cuando mis alumnos se graduaron y ciertamente eso no disminuyó la emoción del día. De hecho, estaban agradecidos por las comodidades del hogar.
- Todos los invitados ingresarán al estadio a través de la puerta en el lado noreste del plantel(cerca de la granja) y el estacionamiento más cercano a la puerta está reservado para nuestros invitados discapacitados. Asegúrese de comunicar esto a cualquier invitado que no esté familiarizado con nuestro plantel. Las otras entradas al estarán cerradas durante la ceremonia.
- Las puertas se abrirán a las 7:45 am. y no se guardarán asientos. Sin embargo… hay mucho espacio ya que utilizamos ambas gradas y usted podrá sentarse donde podrá celebrar a su graduado de cerca y en persona mientras pasean antes de la ceremonia. Habrá personal para ayudarle a dirigirse.
- Los estudiantes con apellidos que comienzan con A-La se verán mejor en el lado VISITANTE del estadio (Sur)
- Los estudiantes con apellidos que comienzan con Le-Z se verán mejor en el lado INICIO del estadio (Norte)
Togas y birretes Si su estudiante no tiene toga y birrete en este momento, comuníquese con el Sr. Welborn al brian.welborn@dixonusd.org . Para la ceremonia, los estudiantes pueden decorar la parte superior de sus gorras, pero deben ser apropiadas para la escuela. Si su senior tiene preguntas sobre su gorra, puede hacérmelo en persona, por mensaje de texto o por correo electrónico.
Transcripciones oficiales
Todos los graduados deberán hacer arreglos para que se envíe un expediente académico oficial a su institución postsecundaria. ¡Me enorgullece decir que muchos de nuestros Seniors ya lo han hecho! Diplomas
Todos los estudiantes que se graduaron tendrán que pasar por la oficina de DHS la semana del 10 al 14 de junio, entre las 9:00 y las 3:00 para regresar su Chromebooks (y cargadores), verificar el pago de tarifas y recoger el diploma oficial.
