School libraries function as a central location for all of the information available, and a school librarian functions as the literary map to the resources and materials found in the library. Kindergarten students visit the library for 30 minutes. First through fifth grade students visit for 45 minutes. Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade check out (1) book each week, and leave their books at school. Second-Fifth grade students are allowed to check out (2) books. Books must be returned each week on library day in order to check out new books. If a student forgets their book, they are able to put a book on hold in the library and have until Friday to bring their forgotten book to exchange.
