Welcome families! We’re glad you’ve chosen to join the Dixon Unified family for the 2026-2027 school year.

Open enrollment for the 2026 – 2027 school year begins on February 2, 2026. 

Families can enroll students entering grades Transitional Kindergarten* through 12th grade through our online process.  If you need support completing the process online, we welcome you to visit us at one of our school sites.

*Note that for the 2026-2027 school year, students entering transitional kindergarten must turn four on or before September 1, 2026. Students entering kindergarten must turn five on or before September 1, 2026.

Steps to Register New Students
Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade

  1. Find Your Neighborhood School
    Find out which elementary school will be automatically assigned to your student based on street address and grade level. Click here to view the boundary for Anderson Elementary or Tremont Elementary.
  2. Consider the district’s Dual Language Immersion school
    Gretchen Higgins Elementary is the district’s only Dual Language Immersion school and provides a high-quality bilingual and biliterate education that values cultural and linguistic diversity. The program follows a 90/10 instructional model in the primary grades, gradually moving toward balanced bilingual instruction in later grades. The program is designed to: develop bilingualism and biliteracy in English and Spanish; promote high academic achievement in both languages; foster cross-cultural competence.Gretchen Higgins Dual Language Immersion school is open to all Dixon Unified School District families through the Open Enrollment process.   3. Gather Required Documents
    The following documents are required when enrolling a student. You will be prompted to upload them to the online enrollment portal.

    • Address Verification
      • Proof of address can be verified with two of the following documents: current mortgage papers, rental/lease agreement from the management company, current utility bill, current automobile registration with auto insurance policy, correspondence from a government agency within the last 45 days, or a pay stub from the last 45 days. Please note that a driver’s license is not acceptable proof of address.
    • Child’s Birth Certificate
      • Please provide a clear copy of the birth certificate, certified copy, passport, hospital birth record (signed by hospital personnel), immigration visa, or, in the case of a foster child, if none of the above are available, a signed letter from Social Services verifying the date of birth.
    • Immunization Records
      • Please provide an up-to-date copy of your student’s immunization record from their doctor or clinic.

    • Health Examination
      • A health examination report must be on file at your child’s school. Download the Health Examination Form in English or Spanish
    • Oral Health Assessment Form (Required only for transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students)
      • An oral health assessment is required for students entering transitional kindergarten (TK) and kindergarten. It must be on file at your child’s school as part of the registration process. Download the Oral Health Assessment Form in English or Spanish. If it is not completed at registration, it can be submitted to the school’s front office after completing the online registration process.
    • Parent / Guardian Identification
      • Acceptable forms of identification include a valid California State Driver’s License, a current California State ID Card, a valid passport, or a consulate-issued photo ID.
    • Transcripts (For students entering 9th-12th grades)
      • A transcript will need to be uploaded or turned in to the school’s office.
    • Most Recent Progress Report (Grades 6-8)
    • Course Request Form (For students entering 9th-12th grades)
  4. Complete the Online Enrollment Application
    Based on your address, your student will be enrolled in your neighborhood school. If space is unavailable at their grade level, your student may be reassigned to another school, and you will be notified via email. To request a specific school, you must complete the initial enrollment process first, then apply for an intradistrict transfer.

  5. Application Submission and Next Steps
