COVID News
We had an increase in positive tests over the last week, with a kindergarten class at Tremont being the largest number of positive students. We continue to work with Solano Public Health on a daily basis to ensure that the proper protocols and reporting is followed.

We continue to plan and offer more of the regular things that happen every year. To the delight of almost everyone. Please watch for information from your schools with the details. All three elementary schools are holding their Open Houses this evening, as an example. Check your school’s regular communication locations if you somehow missed the information on them.
Town Hall on Student Behavior
We held a Town Hall Meeting last Wednesday that focused on student behaviors, including bullying. Families were given the chance to share their concerns with the District administrators, including the principal from all of the schools. This coming Wednesday, May 4th, we will be holding the second meeting of three that are scheduled. Our focus in this meeting is to provide information about laws and policies, and outline all of the District programs and work addressing the negative behaviors that are happening. The meetings are intended for families from all schools and grade levels to attend, and we encourage all of you to do so.
State Testing
Our secondary schools are completing testing this week, and all reports are that students have been taking them seriously and problems have been limited. Elementary schools begin on May 16th, and we again encourage students and families to follow the suggestions that are being made by schools to maximize students’ performance.
Transitional and Regular Kindergarten Registration
We continue to encourage any family that will have a student in Transitional or regular Kindergarten to get enrolled at their school site immediately. We must be sure to have the appropriate number of teachers and other staff in place for our students. The more late registrations that we get, the harder it is to fill our positions. Please register now!
Credit Recovery for High School Students
Students who are behind on their credits toward graduation are being invited to enroll in our Credit Recovery program that will be offered this summer. Our focus is on next year’s Seniors first, with invitations then being made to the Juniors, and perhaps some Sophomores. We are getting a very small number of the invitations returned, while we also know that many students are in very high need of earning credits this summer. Families should check with their student’s counselor to check the status of an invitation if they are unsure. Families that have received an invitation but have not returned it yet should do so immediately. Spots will be offered to students lower on the priority list if we don’t hear from you.

Las familias tuvieron la oportunidad de compartir sus preocupaciones con los administradores del Distrito, incluyendo todos los directores de todas las escuelas. Este próximo miércoles 4 de mayo estaremos realizando la segunda reunión de las tres que están programadas. Nuestro enfoque en esta reunión es brindar información sobre leyes y políticas y describir todos los programas y trabajos del Distrito para abordar los comportamientos negativos que están ocurriendo. Las reuniones están destinadas a que asistan familias de todas las escuelas y niveles de grado. Animamos a todos a que asistan.
Pruebas Estatales
Nuestras escuelas secundarias están completando las pruebas esta semana, y todos los informes indican que los estudiantes las han estado tomando en serio y que los problemas han sido limitados. Las escuelas primarias comienzan el 16 de mayo y nuevamente animamos a los estudiantes y las familias a seguir las sugerencias que están haciendo las escuelas para maximizar el rendimiento de los estudiantes.
Registro de Kindergarten de Transición y Regular
Seguimos alentando a cualquier familia que tenga un estudiante en el kindergarten de transición o regular a que se inscriba en su escuela de inmediato. Debemos asegurarnos de tener la cantidad adecuada de maestros y otro personal para nuestros estudiantes. Cuantas más inscripciones tardías tengamos, más difícil será llenar nuestros puestos. ¡Por favor inscríbase ahora!
Recuperación de Créditos para Estudiantes de la Preparatoria
Los estudiantes que están atrasados en sus créditos para graduarse están invitados a inscribirse en nuestro programa de Recuperación de Créditos que se ofrecerá este verano. Nuestro enfoque está en los estudiantes de último año del próximo año primero y luego se harán invitaciones a los estudiantes de tercer año y quizás a algunos estudiantes de segundo año. Estamos recibiendo un número muy pequeño de invitaciones devueltas, mientras que también sabemos que muchos estudiantes tienen una gran necesidad de obtener créditos este verano. Las familias deben consultar con el consejero de su estudiante para verificar el estado de una invitación si no están seguros. Las familias que han recibido una invitación pero aún no la han devuelto deben hacerlo de inmediato. Se ofrecerán plazas a los estudiantes que se encuentren más abajo en la lista de prioridades si no sabemos de usted.
