This week we emphasized the importance of remaining safe while at school with our 7th and 6th graders! We discussed the dangers of running in academic zones and reminded our mavericks of our school-wide expectations. We used a modified lunch schedule to teach these expectations and will remain on the modified schedule until we see an improvement in lunchtime behaviors during 1st lunch.<\/p>\n
Our 8th graders continue to adhere to our school-wide expectation of being safe, respectful, and productive while in the common areas and at lunch. Over the next few weeks, we will ask our 8th graders to focus on respect and productivity in the classroom! Please remind your 8th graders to go directly to class and remain productive and focused on academics the entire time they are in class. As our 8th-grade mavericks prepare for the transition to high school it’s important that they maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, our focus will be on grades and growth!<\/p>\n
8th-grade parents, Dixon High School is hosting this year’s Course Expo from 6:00 – 7:30 pm in the large gym on February 23, 2022. We want all of our 8th graders to attend! We are super excited about the opportunity to showcase all of Dixon Highs’ programs so that students and families can make informed decisions in their class selection and have an opportunity to meet DHS\u2019s awesome teachers. It is important for all eighth-graders to attend so that they can see what classes they have the opportunity to sign up for, for their freshman year at Dixon High School. Make sure to calendar Feb 23, at 6:00 pm at Dixon High School to help your child plan your schedule for next year!<\/p>\n
The school will be closed tomorrow Feb 18, 2022 and Monday, February 21, 2022, in observance of presidents day. We look forward to seeing our Mavericks back at JK on Tuesday Feb 22, 2022.<\/p>\n
