We devoted two full days to teaching students about three school-wide behavioral expectations &#8211; be safe, be respectful, and be productive.<\/p>\n<p>These behaviors will be positively reinforced for the remainder of your student\u2019s middle-school experience as defined by our Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) initiative. Whenever students are safe, respectful, or productive, our staff will recognize their positive behavior by rewarding them with Cougar Bucks. Students can redeem their Cougar Bucks at the digital student store for prizes, including college t-shirts, cougar paw stickers, school supplies, gift cards, and much more.<\/p>\n<p>For students who fall short of our expectations, but whose behaviors don\u2019t rise to the level of an office referral, teachers may issue a citation. You can think of a citation as a minor referral. Whenever a student receives multiple citations from a staff member for the same negative behavior, that student may be required to participate in a retraining session.<\/p>\n<p>We are excited to offer a free app called PBIS Rewards Parent that allows parents and\/or guardians to monitor their student\u2019s citations and\/or referrals from their smartphone or tablet. Whenever you open the app, you will be able to see the date, time, location, and negative behavior for which your student was cited. You can also use the app to monitor how often your student is recognized for their positive behavior. Under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) all local educational agencies (LEAs) are required to prepare a Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), which describes how they intend to meet annual school-specific goals for all pupils, with specific activities to address state and local priorities. Additionally, data reported in an LCAP is to be consistent with data reported in the SARC.
