{"id":923,"date":"2022-09-06T20:24:18","date_gmt":"2022-09-07T03:24:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dixonusd.org\/dhs\/?p=923"},"modified":"2023-09-01T13:02:19","modified_gmt":"2023-09-01T20:02:19","slug":"principals-rampage-v3-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dixonusd.org\/dhs\/principals-rampage-v3-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Principal&#8217;s RAMpage v3.5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dear Dixon High School Families,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wow!\u00a0 It is crazy hot this week!\u00a0 I hope you are all doing well through this heat wave and I wanted to take a moment to assure you that we have your students\u2019 health at the front of our minds.\u00a0 We will all need to work together to stay engaged in learning as this continues.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We will keep your student comfortable and safe.\u00a0 We will be canceling and\/or limiting outside time for kids.\u00a0 We have plenty of indoor spaces at lunch and students will not be participating in outdoor PE until the temperatures drop.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We will continue to address HVAC issues as they arise throughout the heat wave and power outages.\u00a0 When we do have a classroom with cooling issues, we will move that class to a classroom with air until the issue is resolved.\u00a0 Our HVAC repair service is working hard to keep things running smoothly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We need you and your student to do your part too.\u00a0 Please make sure your student has plenty of water in their day and that they let you (or us) know if they are feeling bad due to heat.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Gratitude and Celebrations<\/b><br \/>\n<b>Back to School Night<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It was so nice to see all of our families that attended Back to School Night.\u00a0 Thank you for making time! And, it was really nice to see our awesome teachers getting a chance to meet you in person and share their expertise.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Our Colleagues<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our entire staff is working hard to support your students with equitable, common practices including binders and planners, they are building relationships with students, and they are teaching up a storm!\u00a0 Our office staff and support staff are also on top of things and helping families, students, and all of us, with the work of running a school.\u00a0 We have been able to get some older Chromebooks repaired and we are looking forward to getting some new ones in the hands of your kids.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Our Students<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wow!\u00a0 Our students are enthusiastic, engaged, and so fun to be around.\u00a0 They are also working really hard.\u00a0 Please make sure to check in with them daily (planner, binder, backpack) and also check Homelink for grades and missing assignments.\u00a0 As I\u2019ve mentioned before, google classroom and Aeries do not have the most reliable communication so Homelink is always more accurate than google classroom.\u00a0 If, at any time, you are unclear about your student\u2019s progress, please reach out to their teacher directly.\u00a0 They love to hear from you and now that we\u2019ve settled into the school year, they really know your student\u2019s strengths and areas of growth.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Our Families<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It has been an absolute pleasure to meet you all.\u00a0 Thank you for partnering with us as we raise our community\u2019s teenagers together.\u00a0 Please keep supporting your students\u2019 planner and binder use, make sure they bring their charged Chromebook every day, and keep communicating with us.\u00a0 We love hearing from you.
