{"id":867,"date":"2022-08-02T12:25:46","date_gmt":"2022-08-02T19:25:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dixonusd.org\/dhs\/?p=867"},"modified":"2023-09-01T13:01:47","modified_gmt":"2023-09-01T20:01:47","slug":"principals-rampage-v3-2-back-to-school-edition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dixonusd.org\/dhs\/principals-rampage-v3-2-back-to-school-edition\/","title":{"rendered":"Principal&#8217;s RAMpage, v3.2 Back to School edition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dear Dixon High School Students and Families,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here we are, just a few days before the start of school!\u00a0 Since the transition from summer to school can be a jolt to our family calendars, here are some brief things to do and consider:<\/span><br \/>\n<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Expectations and our mission<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dixon High School is committed to ensuring ALL students graduate college and career ready for their post-secondary plans.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We also hold ourselves and our community to three common expectations, which we will model and teach as school begins:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be present<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Engage fully<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Seek Support<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Communication<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I will communicate regularly with students and families through email, and on our Dixon High School Facebook page.\u00a0 To make this happen, I need something from you:<\/span><br \/>\n<b>To do:\u00a0 Make sure you are getting my emails.\u00a0 This document was also sent via email on August 2, 2022. If you didn\u2019t receive that email, please call our office staff at 707-693-6330 ASAP so we can look into this for you.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here are some other things to keep in mind regarding communication\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I will send a RAMpage email every week when school begins and as needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I am always interested in hearing your thoughts and questions.\u00a0 Please feel free to email me at any time Tuesday, August 16, at 7:00pm.\u00a0 These evenings are an opportunity for you to be involved, get support, stay informed, and get your questions answered.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Disclaimer: There are many private Facebook groups that do NOT represent the entire school.\u00a0 While these sites may be a great opportunity for networking, they do not represent the school or Associated Student Body and may post events and activities that are not available to all students.\u00a0 The Dixon High School page, the Dixon Unified School District page, the DHS PTO page, and our school\u2019s Athletics and club pages are the only ones authorized to share events and announcements to ensure they are inclusive for all students.\u00a0 If Class of 2026 (and all other new students to Dixon High School)<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">8:30am &#8211; 10:30am.\u00a0 Large Gymnasium<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Meet the DHS admin team and student leaders.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Get class schedules.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Get a campus tour.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Take school picture and get ID card.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Purchase PE clothes ($20 Short, $20 Shirt, $35 for the set &#8211; cash or
