{"id":1387,"date":"2023-09-12T14:43:03","date_gmt":"2023-09-12T21:43:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dixonusd.org\/dhs\/?p=1387"},"modified":"2023-09-12T14:43:03","modified_gmt":"2023-09-12T21:43:03","slug":"principals-rampage-v4-8-events-timelines-and-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dixonusd.org\/dhs\/principals-rampage-v4-8-events-timelines-and-opportunities\/","title":{"rendered":"Principal\u2019s RAMpage v4.8 \u201cEvents, Timelines, and Opportunities\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hello everybody!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We are nearing the end of our first 6 week term.\u00a0 Can you believe it?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here are some things to keep in mind as we move forward.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Events, Timelines, and Opportunities for All Stakeholders<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attend our athletic events.\u00a0 Our fall sports are well underway and they are so fun to watch.\u00a0 Follow our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/DIXONRAMSATHLETICS\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">DHS Athletics Facebook Page<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for schedules.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our Student Leadership Class is working hard to welcome students and plan for Homecoming, 2023.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They hosted a Club Fair at lunch last week and DHS proudly hosts over 17 clubs this year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will have the opportunity to get involved in many Homecoming activities the week of October 2-7, including our football game against Woodland High School on Friday, October 6 and our Homecoming Fancy Dance on Saturday, October 7.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The end of the 6-week grading period is this Friday, September 15.\u00a0 This means that progress reports are on their way.\u00a0 Look for them in the mail toward the end of next week.\u00a0 Remember, this is a progress report so your student has time to recover if their grades are low.\u00a0 That said, all athletes must have a 2.0 to participate in athletics.\u00a0 If you or your student needs support in this, it is always good to have a conversation with teachers first and all students are encouraged to get free tutoring in the Learning Center 0 period, or after school.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It is time to start thinking about ordering your copy of the 2024 Dixon High School Yearbook.\u00a0 Go to <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.yearbookordercenter.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">www.yearbookordercenter.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (Order #7317) to pay by credit card or by mail-in check by calling 866-287-3096.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">AP Students are getting important information about registering with CollegeBoard and preparing to order their AP tests.\u00a0 Remember, it is very important for students to sit for the AP tests when they take an AP class.\u00a0 All information will be sent via student email and delivered by AP teachers.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Events, Timelines, and Opportunities for the Class of 2024 Specifically<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It is time to get college applications going.\u00a0 Reach out to your counselor if you need support through this process.\u00a0 Also, here is a link to some important information regarding post-secondary opportunities (college, trade school, military) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1oLszh0ALg-6GH_Cx0pMx1ddjycM_2SKY\/view?usp=drive_link\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">College and Post-Secondary Plans<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you are a senior (or love a senior) and want to register for the SAT and\/or ACT exams. Go to CollegeBoard to find and register for local test dates.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you are a senior (or love a senior) who needs to schedule a photo session for an official DHS yearbook picture, Senior Picture makeup day is October 2 and October 3.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will receive an email with their 8-digit appointment code.
